Inside the Mind of a Pro: full steam ahead

Par dans

A double-up right from the get-go, and Pierre Calamusa is off to a flying start in the WSOP $10K 6-Max. And this is just the beginning!

Inside the Mind of a Pro Episode 16Six minutes: that's how long Pierre Calamusa spent tanking on the river at the end of this – in his own words – ‘mystical’ hand with two kings in hand. We all saw it in the previous episode, which marked Pierre's debut in the famous WSOP $10,000 6-max, that given the size of the pot (700 blinds, no less) and the memories that this hand brought back, the description is not an exaggeration!

Thus, our Team Pro smashed the previous tanking record in Inside the Mind of a Pro, set a few episodes ago by one of Adrián Mateos' opponents who, after three minutes of thinking, gave up the best hand against our Spanish machine. Pierre, on the other hand, made no such mistake... which allowed him to double his stack before the first break of the tournament and remove the huge thorn in his side that had been there since the 2023 Main Event, a tournament in which he had been knocked out in a very similar situation after just a few minutes.

As a result, with nearly 120,000 chips, or almost 400 blinds, our friend Pierre is in an ideal position to develop the panache poker style he loves so much, right from the start of Day 1. His opponents can already start to tremble. Because although he has gained maturity since becoming a father recently, with a stack like that, the Calamusa madness could resurface at any moment!
