Winamax Poker Open Dublin

There will be no Winamax Poker Open in Dublin in 2022.

That's right, we've said it. But dry up those Guinness tears that are already starting to flow. We won't be going to Dublin this year (or next year, for that matter) for reasons that go far beyond the joyous and festive context of our big 6-max gatherings and other beer-pong tournaments. In fact, if we have to cancel, it's for a good cause.

Let us explain. As you know, war has been raging in Ukraine for over a hundred days now, with dramatic humanitarian consequences. In response, the Irish government and the Citywest Hotel in Dublin, the country's largest hotel, where the Winamax Poker Open was held between 2017 and 2019, have signed a cooperation agreement to host refugees from Ukraine. The agreement will last for a minimum of two years and will see the entire hotel, including hundreds of rooms and the conference centre, being used to provide the best possible assistance to people who have been forced to flee their country.

For this decision, we can only applaud our partners at the Citywest Hotel. We hope to work with them again one day, when circumstances are more favourable.
