The fourth and final day of the Caribbean Poker Party is about to begin; there are only 24 players left, but Adrián Mateos is starting at the bottom of the pack.
Whilst walking the short distance between his hotel and the Baha Mar Casino tournament room, Adrián Mateos is being frank with us: his last night of sleep before the conclusion of the Caribbean Poker Party was erratic, restless, incomplete. This is almost reassuring: even the most experienced competitors have trouble finding rest after a long and eventful day, and before a final round that will probably be just as busy, if not more. Day 4 boasts a 1,3 million dollar prize awaiting a taker on the finish line. Now more than ever, every decision, even the most innocuous, will be crucial, because even if there are only 24 players left in the tournament, making the final table a reasonable prospect for anyone at this stage, our Spaniard is at the bottom of the pack, with only twenty big blinds or so in his possession. What's more, among his last opponents, there are many, many dangerous top pros. Thus, the first draw will have nothing to do with cards: will Adrián take a seat at a good table; perhaps a table featuring one of the few amateurs players still in the race? You'll get your answers soon in a new episode where every hand could potentially be the last.
