Inside the Mind of a Pro: Catch him if you can

By in

Irrepressible since the kick-off of the WSOP Main Event, Adrián Mateos seems completely out of reach for all his opponents. Will he continue charging ahead?

Inside the Mind of a Pro Episode 10Last week, Adrián Mateos gave us another lesson in aggression, whether preflop or with community cards on the table. For the máquina, any excuse will do to put chips in the middle. When you have mastered every aspect of the game to such a degree, it gives you a new high point in the WSOP Main Event. With 800,000 chips and blinds at 3,000/5,000, the Team Pro doesn't seem to want to take a single step backwards, or even sideways, at the end of Day 3.

What's more, the dynamic is not about to change, because with 1,755 players still alive and 1,517 paid, it's time for the big stacks to put pressure on the shorties and, above all, the mid stacks. But we won't presume to give the world's best tournament player any pre-bubble game lessons; he knows exactly what he has to do. And so do we, which is to say we can sit back and enjoy the show.

IMPORTANT! Thanks to recent advances in artificial intelligence, Inside the Mind of a Pro is now available in a dubbed version. To watch the subtitled original version: click here (if necessary, click on the settings wheel to change the subtitle language).
